Apple debuts an official 46-strong app Hall of Fame on App Store

Never one to let thirdparties rule the roost, Apple has launched its app Hall of Fame just weeks after 148Apps unveiled its own venture.
Currently 46 titles strong (in the UK at least, with the US variant sporting 50 apps), the new section collates together apps of different creeds from games to utilities to social networking tools.
However, games naturally make up large portions of its line up, with big hitters such as Chillingo's Angry Birds and recent hit Cut the Rope both making the roster, along with Flight Control, Carcassonne, Homerun Battle 3D, NOVA, Plants vs. Zombies and Real Racing, amongst others.
Seeing double
In total, there are 17 games almost 37 percent of the Hall of Fame's current line-up with many having also featured on 148Apps' App Hall of Fame's launch in October.
It's not currently known how often Apple plans to add to the list, or what hoops developers have to jump though - if any - to be considered.
148Apps adds 12 new apps each month, initially focusing on iPhone, but expanding to iPad and Android in the near future.
Half of 148Apps' initial line-up were games, including Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, Flight Control, Fieldrunners, Homerun Battle 3D and Plants vs. Zombies.
