Apple responds to Dev Portal hack with system status tool

Apple has rolled out a new 'system status' webpage designed to highlight which elements of its Developer Portal services are working following a hacking incident.
As we reported on Monday, Apple revealed that its Developer Portal had been brought down after an "intruder" made an "attempt to secure personal information of our registered developers".
On or off
The System Status website is essentially a barebones switchboard that lists the fifteen services and shows clearly whether they're online or offline.

Following the security breach, Apple claimed that the intruder was unable to access encrypted information, although it later admitted some personal data - such as developers' names, mailing addresses and email addresses - "may have been accessed".
The Developer Portal went offline on Thursday July 18 but Apple did not inform developers about the potential data theft until Sunday July 21.
