Apple rolls out added security measures for App Store purchases

App Store customers have reported encountering new security demands when attempting to purchase apps on the marketplace.
According to those who have taken to Apple's support forums, users are being faced with pop ups asking them to choose three security questions and a back-up email before the download can proceed.

Interestingly, it's also being suggested said measures aren't being rolled out to all Apple IDs at once - a factor that appears to be adding to the confusion.
An Apple representative has informed CNET that the measure has been set in place to tighten security, though the lack of notice appears to be leaving consumers unsure as to who or what the information is for.
Nevertheless, Apple confirmed back in March it would be looking at ways of strengthening its App Store security, following claims users were being charged for in-app purchases they hadn't made, specifically in Chinese-language titles.
