Apple rolls out Genius recommendations for iPad

Available on iPhone and iPod touch since iTunes 8, Apple has unveiled a version of its Genius recommendations feature for iPad, with the set-up alerting users to apps it thinks they will enjoy.
Genius, which began life on iTunes, analyses user purchases in order to highlight appropriate apps.

The iPad variation, which benefits from the larger screen, is now available via a tab displayed at the bottom of the App Store app on the device itself a more prominent location than on iPhone or iPod touch, where it is hidden away in the Featured menu.
The new set-up also alerts consumers to iPad versions of apps they already own on iPhone, enticing them to upgrade to the HD release.
Its debut follows the launch of the 'Try Before You Buy' section, which groups together Lite releases in one area of the App Store.
