Mobile games publisher Artificial Life has announced a deal to launch a 3G WAP portal for Chinese mobile operator China Telecom.

The portal will go live as China Telecom launches its 3G service alongside rivals China Mobile and China Unicom.

Artificial Life will develop, host and maintain the portal, which will offer games, applications and other entertainment content.

It'll go live initially in the Hunan province, before rolling out elsewhere in China.

"It is an honor for us to be chosen as one of the key content providers for the newly-launched 3G networks in China by China Telecom," says CEO Eberhard Schoneburg.

Artificial Life was one of the first mobile games firms to focus on 3G, with its V-Girl game back in 2005.
