AT&T looking to follow the iPhone with an Android

AT&T seems to have been rather worried about losing its iPhone exclusivity next year, and despite plentiful talks with Apple about an extension, it now appears to be looking elsewhere to keep itself up to date on the smartphone front.
DigiTimes quotes sources within Taiwanese manufacturer HTC that AT&T will be taking its third Android powered handset, the Lancaster, and could be putting it on the shelves as soon as August. The handset is something of a return to form for HTC, with a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
And AndroidGuys is reporting that the Motorola Heron - also an Android handset - will also become available through AT&T. The Motorola handset also includes a slide out keyboard, this time from the bottom - providing the US carrier with something of an answer to the Palm Pre.
