As the iPhone and App Store become increasingly popular, it's no wonder product brands are keen to splash their name across it. But as it becomes difficult for applications and games to get themselves noticed, slapping a big name product across the gameplay can have an equally beneficial effect.

Such as Greystripe's new AXE Pogo Xtreme. Offered as a free platform jumping game on the iPhone, this body spray-coated title is one of the first ad-branded games to go cross-platform, also being available on the web and PS3.

“Gaming is the perfect medium to reach our guy and the AXE Bodyspray Education gaming initiatives are the biggest and most exciting we’ve executed as a brand,” said Jay Mathew, U.S. marketing director. “AXE always strives to be the first to flirt with new and relevant technology, as it helps us stay relevant and appealing to our target.”

Fishlabs has also been partnering with Greystripe for big name ad-branding, though it seems that particular partnership didn't work out quite so well.
