Backflip, Zynga, Scoreloop, Flurry and Aurora Feint all line up for DiscoveryBeat 2010

Back for its second run, organisers behind this year's DiscoveryBeat in San Francisco have announced a line up of industry luminaries designed to give an insight on each and every area of the app business.
Even a cursory glance at the list of confirmed speakers seems to suggest most bases have been covered, with Backflip CEO Julian Farrior, Zynga designer Brian Reynolds, Scoreloop CEO Marc Gumpinger, Flurry CEO Simon Khalaf, Aurora Feint CEO Jason Citron and AdMob's Aunkur Arya just a small sample of the big names bound for DiscoveryBeat.
Indeed, in total, 25 different speakers representing publishers, developers, gaming networks, chip makers and advertisers, amongst others, will all be in San Francisco.
Getting noticed
"App discovery has a new set of challenges that didnt exist a year ago including how to build successful businesses on emerging platforms like Android and what types of social media integration and monetisation are working and why," said VentureBeat founder Matt Marshall of this year's event.
Making a profit from the app ecosystem would appear to be DiscoveryBeat's focus, with organisers at VentureBeat having created a directory of 33 proven tricks developers can employ to increase the visibility of their apps.
Speakers will explore said tricks, sharing their insight and personal experience along the way.
DiscoveryBeat will also play host to case studies throughout the day, highlighting the reasons behind the industry's past successes.
A full list of speakers for the event, which will take place at San Francisco's Mission Bay Conference Center at UCSF on October, can be found on the event's website, with tickets available from Eventbrite.
