Capcom generated ¥45.5 billion ($308.3 million) in net sales during its Q1 2025, up 54% year-over-year.

Merely ¥500m ($3.4m) of this came from its mobile segment, representing just 1% of total net sales. The sum marked a 50% decline Y/Y.

By comparison, in Q1 2024, Capcom generated ¥1bn ($6.8m) on mobile - its highest mobile sum post-pandemic and up 150% compared to Q1 2023. This was also the first Q1 to benefit from Monster Hunter Now revenue, after the mobile game had quickly become the second most-lucrative Niantic geolocation title behind Pokémon Go.

Where previous financials have highlighted Monster Hunter Now milestones, no mention of the game was made in the Q1 2025 report.

Capcom’s catalogue

While Capcom’s mobile revenue has fallen back down, the company’s overall net sales grew this quarter and operating profit hit ¥24.5bn ($166.1m), up 91% Y/Y. Ordinary profit reached ¥22.8bn ($154.6m), an increase of 70% Y/Y.

Digital contents accounted for ¥20bn ($135.6m) of that operating profit, or 82% of the total, with Capcom’s other segments including arcades and amusements.

Earnings from digital contents were largely driven by Devil May Cry 5 and the Resident Evil series, and bolstered by Street Fighter 6’s release on Nintendo Switch 2.

Monster Hunter games for console and PC were also highlighted - with Wilds selling 477,000 copies during its second quarter on the market. Despite having first released in 2021, Monster Hunter Rise sold another 389,000 units this Q1.

Another of the series’ mobile ventures, 2024’s Monster Hunter Puzzles: Felyne Isles, went unmentioned.

No further details emerged on Monster Hunter Outlanders either, a PC and mobile game previously confirmed to be under development by Capcom and Tencent subsidiary TiMi Studio Group. Revealed in late 2024, the title was promised as a "traditional hunting experience" akin to the main series.

"During the three months ended June 30th, 2025, Capcom’s core digital contents business successfully expanded sales, driven primarily by a wide range of catalogue titles," the developer stated.
