In the ongoing social gaming platform debate, Capcom has come out in support of Aurora Feint's OpenFeint platform, signing two iPhone games up to the online service.

In a joint statement, the two parties said recent iPhone releases by Capcom Dark Void Zero, which made its debut in mid-April, and Hatchlings, which launched last month are now able to tap into OpenFeint's online gaming components.

"Capcom Interactive has been evaluating the online mobile gaming space for quite some time now and we think that OpenFeint has a great social games platform," says Capcom's head of Americas and EMEA, Manabu Seko

"We look forward to taking advantage of OpenFeint's social, gaming and marketing features to reach their 21 million players."

In the spotlight

To solidify the deal, Aurora Feint will promote both titles via its new OpenFeint Game Spotlight set-up, which markets what it describes as outstanding game content available on the OpenFeint network.

"We're excited to help bring Capcom's first OpenFeint-enabled games to our online gaming platform," adds Aurora Feint founder and CEO Jason Citron.

"Dark Void Zero and Hatchlings are great online games and we look forward to working with great publishers and developers like Capcom in the future to integrate key components of our OpenFeint X platform social gaming services like virtual goods."
