Having been acquired by comScore for a reported $50 million earlier this year, M:Metrics is now losing co-founder Seamus McAteer, who's stepping down. CEO Will Hodgman will remain, however.
In an email to MocoNews, he says that his departure is because "I achieved what I set out to achieve", and says the team he leaves behind will be well-set to continue the company's growth under its new owner.
“"I have succeeded in a primary goal of making myself totally expendable. I built a team that included people who were much smarter than I am, and Will and they are better equipped than me to help the business scale as part of a bigger company."”Obviously, if we were Seamus, we'd be spending the next two years on a desert island somewhere counting our loot, but it'll be interesting to see if he starts another new mobile-related venture instead.
