Cross platform mobile dev kit Mobile Sorcery raises cash

Swedish firm Mobile Sorcery has just completed an early-stage investment to further develop its cross-platform mobile software development kit.
The funding comes from the entrepreneurial founders of the immensely important MySQL database system, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems at the beginning of 2008 for something in the region of $1 billion.
The company is looking to further expand its MoSync SDK, which offers all the tools to create a generic mobile application built using a single code base which is then fed into a custom transformation engine and converted to a number of platform specific executable forms.
These platforms currently include Nokia's S60, Java, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Brew, with more platforms and APIs being included all the time.
