Delayed no more: Nvidia Shield to ship before end of July

Nvidia has announced that its premium Android gaming handheld, Shield, will ship on 31 July 31.
The announcement comes less than a month after the company revealed that the device was to miss its June launch date at the final hour.
Although Nvidia once again declined to provide a direct reason for the shipping delay, it stated that the Shield was subjected to "the most rigorous mechanical testing and quality assurance standards in the industry".
No protection
That's consistent with the mysterious mechanical issue blamed for the initial shipping delay.

"We want to thank you for your patience and for sticking with us through the shipment delay of your Shield," detailed Nvidia in a statement.
"We built Shield because we love playing games, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do."
The new shipping date of 31 July is significant, if only because it barely fits in with the adjusted launch window provided by Nvidia last month to customers who had pre-ordered the $349 device.
However, it's probable that many customers will not receive their systems until August.
