Didmo launches community mobile games portal

Ad-funded mobile games firm Didmo has launched its online community portal in beta, allowing users to browse its catalogue of free mobile games, and then cue them up for downloading to their handsets.
The company, which claims thousands of daily users already, says the website will be an important driver of growth, beyond its existing on-handset application.
"The website will grow a loyal DIDMO fan base while it drives increased content circulation, generating higher returns for publishers and advertisers," says CEO Roberto Chaves.
"We are looking forward to feedback from our users that will help us improve the website and build a powerful mobile advertising network that mobile gamers will enjoy.
The way the site works is to let users create 'playlists' of up to ten games, which can then be downloaded to their phone and played for 24 hours, before being prompted to buy it.
The community also includes tournaments, buddy lists, game ratings and forums, with active users being rewarded with 'Didmo Points', that can then be redeemed for prizes and discounts.
Developers supplying games include the likes of Game Federation, Orange Pixel and Tequila Mobile, with hundreds of titles available. The company has yet to attract mid-tier and large publishers, however.
