Didmo signs up more mobile game firms

Earlier this year, we wrote on Pocket Gamer about how Swedish firm Didmo was bringing its ad-funded mobile game service to the UK.
It seems the company has been busy since then striking deals, having just announced seven new distribution partnerships. They include Celander US, Kitmaker, OrangePixel, Smoco and ZGroup Mobile.
Although it's a stretch to call all these firms "well-known", as Didmo CEO Joseph Oliver does, the deals will at least provide more games for Didmo's service, which relies on a deep catalogue since it lets users try a new game every day.
The appeal for Didmo's partners is clear, too, since the service offers a new distribution channel on which users will try their games for free, but then have a mechanism to click through and buy them.
Didmo also claims that advertisers on its service can expect click-through rates of 5-10 per cent, rather than the 1-2 per cent they might get for traditional WAP banner ads. If you can call something as new as WAP banners traditional, that is.
