Draw Something's OMGPOP wins big at Facebook Mobile's Hacks Roadshow

Facebook has announced the winners of its Mobile Platform's Hacks Roadshow its tour designed to scour the globe for social app talent.

36 winning projects and 12 honour nominations were selected from the tour, all picked by panels of local investors and mobile experts from each city.

And the winner is...

Winners ranged from big names such as Draw Something creators OMGPOP to smaller self-formed teams who were actually formed at the hacks themselves.

Making stops in New York, London, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Singapore, Tokyo and more, the hacks saw more than 2,000 attendees writing 450 hours worth of code for a total of 200 mobile projects.

Facebook has also thanked developers for the turn out, touting the event as an opportunity to discuss how the social networking giant could improve its mobile platform.

"Looking back, we've quickly learned that the one thing that all of these teams share (wherever they are in the world) is their desire to innovate, experiment, and enjoy this unique hands-on coding experience," said Marketing manager Jonathan Matus.

"As ever, we are constantly amazed by the abilities and talents of our developers worldwide and it was a huge pleasure hacking with these vibrant communities."
