EA Mobile has announced plans to distribute smartphone versions of its mobile games through Handango.

The games will be available for Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian handsets, and include The Sims 2, The Sims Bowling, Monopoly Here & Now, and Madden NFL 08.

They'll be sold through Handango's website, and also its on-handset portal InHand.

In Europe, the deal also includes Symbian versions of Tetris, The Sims 2 Pets and FIFA Manager 08. There's no details yet on how EA Mobile will beef up these games (if at all) for smartphones, though.

The news shows the increased attention being paid to smartphone gaming by mobile games publishers, and also shows EA Mobile's desire to explore off-portal retail channels.
