You might think that GDCE/Gamescom signals the end of the games conferences in the west for 2012, but you'd be wrong.

While GDC Online tries to reposition itself, there are plenty of one and two-days start ups that are testing the water when it comes to mobile gaming and business.

One such as the NY Games Conference.

Now in its fifth year, it will held at Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York on 5 September.

The agenda is already filling up nicely with Frank Gibeau, EA's president of worldwide studios giving the keynote.

Key executives from Rovio, RockYou, SGN, Onlive, Bigpoint, ngmoco, Tapjoy, Tylted, Sony Computer Entertainment and Kiip will also being speaking.

Hey, even King.com's mobile guru Tommy Palm is down on the agenda.
