FreeAppCalendar to offer analytics through appFigures

Mirroring a similar announcement made by FreeAppADay.com and App Annie earlier in the week, app discovery site freeAppCalender has revealed it has entered into a partnership with appFigures to provide developers with app analytics.
The arrangement will allow developers signed up to freeAppCalendar to access appFigures' analytics platform so they can fully evaluate the effect of any promotion on the site.
Pushing performance
"As freeAppCalendar has evolved, app developers have been asking us for more and more information on the performance of their featured apps to help them make decisions relating to app marketing, pricing, and promotion timing," says freeAppCalendar founder Ken Carpenter.
"Collecting and analysing this type of information is precisely the area in which appFigures excels."
As a result of the deal, appFigures now automatically adds an event marker to the developers app history to indicate which day the app was featured on freeAppCalendar.
Hourly rank tracking has also been added into the mix, enabling developers to see changes in app performance as they happen.
Firming up the figures
The statement issued by the two companies to mark the deal cites a meeting at the recent 360|iDev iPhone developer conference in San Jose as the first steps towards the link-up, although the growing trend towards app discovery sites proving their worth.
With some developers raising questions about what methods of promotion are effective in the longterm, freeAppCalendar will be hoping the partnership with appFigures will help the firm show clearly that apps marketed on the site see a significant boost in downloads.
