T-Mobile says it will begin selling the G1 Android handset in more European countries this quarter.
"We will introduce the G1 by Jan. 30 in the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Austria," T-Mobile CEO Hamid Akhavan told Reuters.
It will then launch in Germany on February 2nd, and in Poland later that month. In Germany, the G1 will have a bargain price of 1, albeit with a two-year contract attached.
Akhavan was also bullish about sales of the G1 in the US and UK, where it launched in October. "We have sold several hundred thousand phones. Sales have clearly exceeded our expectations."
It will be interesting to see what happens to the G1's sales when other Android handsets appear, though. So far, it has had the market to itself.
