Last year's GameHorizon event went swimmingly, as among others, Epic's Mark Rein and Zynga's Louis Castle discussed the pros and cons of freemium versus premium, with plenty of other opportunities to shoot the breeze.

The dates for the next GameHorizon event have now been announced, with the conference taking place on June 27-28 2012, at the Sage Gateshead and around the Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside.

Everybody's shuffling

The event will once again feature keynotes and presentations from leading figures in the games industry, though this year there has been a change in the GameHorizon organisation team.

Carri Cuncliffe, GameHorizon network founder and previous conference director has left to start her own consultancy company, Secret Sauce, although remains on the advisory board.

"I am very much looking forward to being a delegate at this great conference and will be supporting the GameHorizon members and team as best I can," she said.

Previous business development manager at GameHorizon, Nina Cliff will be taking the reins as producer of the event alongside Elspeth Lawson.

"I'm very excited about returning to GameHorizon," Cliff said.

"It's amazing how the event has grown and the loyal community it has created over the years. We're working closely with the advisory board to ensure 2012 will continue the great work achieved to date."

Partners in crime

GameHorizon will be teaming up with the games network for Yorkshire, Game Republic with its MD Jamie Sefton now on the advisory board. Pocket Gamer will also be returning as a media partner.

You can enquire about the event over at the GameHorizon website.
