Gameloft has announced an exclusive multi-year mobile game licensing deal with Marvel Entertainment, kicking off next year with games based on Spider-Man and the Iron Man 2 movie.
The publisher takes over from previous licensor Hands-On Mobile, which signed its own ambitious multi-year deal with Marvel back in December 2004, when it was known as Mforma.
That deal was for all kinds of mobile content, including ringtones, wallpaper, screensavers and mobile comic books, as well as games.
Gameloft is focusing purely on mobile games, and will hopefully bring more quality to some of Marvel's brands - games based on Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk released under the previous deal were hardly critically acclaimed.
