Gameloft underlines Amazon's growing importance with support for GameCircle

Obscured by the announcement of iPad mini and the launch of Surface, Amazon released some of its new Kindle Fire HD tablets this week.

And just as it hasn't made a big fuss, the company has also quietly been building up its own Android-based/forked app ecosystem into something some publishers are treating more seriously than the larger, more fragmented Google Play market.

Whisper it softly

One such is Gameloft, which is updating a few of its popular titles for the new devices.

And it's taking its support for Amazon even further with Asphalt 7: Heat and Men in Black 3, which are integrating the company's GameCircle social gaming platform.

Similar to Apple's GameCenter in concept, GameCircle includes friends, achievements, leaderboards, and Whispersync for Games, which synchronises your progress across all your Amazon devices by placing saving your scores in the cloud.
