GameSalad launches standalone HTML5 platform

Austin, TX game development platform GameSalad has announced the launch of its standalone HTML5 publishing platform.

It's now available for GameSalad Pro subscribers.

GameSalad said that with the new platform, devs can make HTML5 server-ready packaged games, allowing for simple integration to websites such as Miniclip and GameJolt, thereby making it easier for others to play and share them.

The first game to be released using the new platform will be the CBS-developed Code Black, a tie-in with its recently premiered medical drama of the same name.

New distribution

“GameSalad has been a long-time supporter of HTML5 technologies and standards," commented Stephen Nichols.

"With its rapid rise to dominance for interactivity and multimedia on the web, it was a no brainer to develop our own standalone publisher.

“By offering the HTML5 publishing platform to our user base we are enabling them to explore whole new ways to expand the audience and reach for the games they develop.”
