GamesPlaza portal for mobile launched

Dutch mobile company BoosterMedia has just published a brand new portal enabling developers to offer free Flash Lite games directly to mobile users.
Flash Lite is being positioned as a potential replacement for J2ME on mobiles, offering simple distribution of the player, as well as the game, to compatible handsets. The GamesPlaza.mobi portal is a first step toward such distribution.
"Flash Lite is now supported by an increasing number of mobile handsets and is especially suited for casual games development targeted at a broad audience, says Laurens Rutten, managing director of BoosterMedia.
Contrary to high-end mobile games based on J2ME, casual games developers can tap into their Flash experience from the web relatively easy. [Our] mobile experts are ready to assist newbie Flash Lite developers.
The GamesPlaza.mobi has launched with a catalogue of Flash Lite compatible games, localised for 10 different regions.
