Gamevil signs publishing deal with Korean RPG specialist KNetP

Cast your eye over one of Gamevil's quarterly results statements, and you'll know just how important RPGs are to the Korean publisher.
The firm's action RPG franchise Zenonia has been plying its trade across multiple mobile and portable formats for the past couple of years, bringing in revenue aplenty for Gamevil in the process.
Now the publisher has decided to invest in another RPG specialist in what it bills as a bid to further strengthen its hand in the genre, pumping cash into fellow Korean outfit KNetP.
Role-playing partnership
The resulting partnership will see Gamevil both publish and help develop the studio's RPGs in the future, following up previous releases like Legend of Master and LAR.
"Partnering with Gamevil gives us high hopes for our most popular Legend of Master and our other new RPG titles to have even greater success in the worldwide market," said KNetP CEO Song Chung Ho.
"This occasion will also strengthen our overall global aspirations."
No figure has been given as to the size of the investment, though Gamevil announced back in June it had set aside $10 million to secure up third party releases it's logical the KNetP partnership would fall within said fund's quota.
Building up the library
For Gamevil's part, the publisher now has its hands on yet another proven franchise the KNetP deal following the acquisition of IP and publishing rights to BlueGNC's Cartoon Wars and Cocosoft's Colosseum.
"We are very excited to invest in KNetP whose titles are numerous and well-received," said Gamevil CEO James Song.
"We're committed to ensuring continued success and beneficial synergy between our two companies."
