Announced by Nokia yesterday, the first developer to utilise the new in-app purchase system for the Series 40 powered Asha 303 has already come forward.

Gedda-Headz, which produces a social multiplayer game and chat app by the same name, is set to employ IAPs to allow users to change and upgrade their avatars.

Headz up

Said avatars or headz, as they are known duel against each other, with users able to peruse a total of 42 variants from the game's store.

The app's virtual currency known as respect points, which accumulate when users connect with each other - can also be employed to level the heads up, giving the player in question an advantage in said duels.

As such, the more a player is invested in the game, whether through sheer time or IAPs, the better they're likely to perform.

Gedda-Headz will be pre-installed on the entire Asha range of handsets, according to the studio, with IAPs initially launching on the Asha 303 device.
