GetJar launches ads for mobile app developers

Mobile app store GetJar has announced that from tomorrow it will be letting developers sign up for its GetJar Ads service, which places contextual advertisements within their applications.
The company is bullish about the service, saying that its pilot test generated "payouts among the highest available in mobile advertising".
What's more, it cites the example of Italian developer Medieval Software, whose CEO Davide Ciuchini claims that it made enough money from the trial alone to fund the company's running costs.
The adverts take the form of text and banner ads, with a choice of a direct app injection or a server-side API, according to the developer's preference.
"The GetJar Ads solution has been designed to provide the most profitable advertising channel available to mobile application developers, delivering a 100% fill rate and high CPM, says GetJar CEO Ilja Laurs.
The company is ramping up its offering this year, aiming to get more games developers and publishers offering their titles, as new VP of marketing Patrick Mork recently explained to PocketGamer.biz.
Does the new ads platform mean developers using other mobile advertising technologies won't be able to distribute their games through GetJar, though? We've asked, and will update this story when they reply.
