Mobile games studio Good Job Games has raised $60 million in a Series A funding round to fuel its ambitions.

The funding will support the studios' goal of creating a lasting entertainment brand through socially driven games.

Building on the breakout success of Match Villains, the company said it is redefining the Match-3 genre with a competitive, replayable, and socially engaging experience designed for long-term appeal.

The $60m investment brings Good Job Games’ total funding to $83m, following a $23m seed round.

On a mission

The investment was co-led by Menlo Ventures and Anthos Capital with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners.

“Match 3 is already the biggest genre in mobile gaming, but the best in the category is yet to come,” said Good Job Games CEO and founder Ilker Ilicali.

“With Match Villains, we’re on a mission to build the most entertaining modern Match-3 game out there.

“The glowing user feedback and exceptional data we are seeing make us genuinely excited and confident about what we’re building - all thanks to our incredible team with world class talent, commitment to excellence, and an unrelenting drive to always improve.”
