Greystripe updates SDK for iOS 4, boasts developer sign ups doubling

Apple's controversial decision to block the biggest mobile ad network, the Google-owned AdMob from iPhone, seems to have been good news for those so-called independent networks such as Greystripe.
The firm has claimed it's seen developer sign ups double following the implementation of the new rules an announcement that coincides with the launch of its new SDK for iOS 4.
Ease of update
The update is being delivered over the air, meaning developers can implement the new software in their apps without resubmitting them to Apple.
"Greystripe is committed to helping developers maximise their revenue with the least amount of effort," said veep of strategy and publisher development, Erica Chriss.
"Any developers negatively affected by Apple's new OS or the change in the developer terms and conditions should contact Greystripe. Our easy to integrate SDK can have your apps ad-enabled in a matter of hours."
Life after AdMob
As you might expect, Greystripe welcomed Apple's new developer terms when they were mooted at the start of the month.
Director of marketing Dane Holewinski commented at the time that the firm was "pleased that Apple's new terms and conditions explicitly allow independent ad networks, like Greystripe, to operate on the iPhone and iPad platforms".
While the new terms signalled the launch of iAd, they also removed one of Greystripe's largest competitors at the time - AdMob.
That's a fact Greystripe appears keen to hammer home to developers, with the company noting in a press release detailing the new SDK that its cooperation with Apple means studios face no risk when implementing Greystripe software.
"Developers new to Greystripe can be confident that their applications, with the Greystripe SDK integrated will move quickly through Apple's approval process," the company states.
"On average, applications including Greystripe's SDK take less than one week for approval from Apple."
