GSMA launches 2009 Global Mobile Awards

Mobile industry body the GSM Association is inviting entries for next year's 2009 Global Mobile Awards, due to be presented at the Mobile World Congress show in February.
As last year, there's a dedicated mobile games category, although it'll cost you £415 to enter if you're a GSMA member or associate member, and £640 if not.
It remains to be seen how many publishers will enter their mobile games, though.
Last year's shortlist was quixotic, to say the least, with the nominees being My Dog II, Burnout, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, My Hangman and Call Of The Pharoah - with the last two being named joint winners.
Following the event, several publishers expressed concern that the analyst-heavy judging panel may not have been entirely au fait with the mobile games market.
However, there's no doubt that the Global Mobile Awards are one of the more prestigious awards ceremonies in the mobile industry. Want to enter? Click here for all the details.
