Social game developer GSN Games has laid off up to 20 members of its staff as it restructures its business.

Teams impacted by job losses are primarily the cross-functional teams, QA and creative. GSN did not officially state how many jobs had been cut, but sources told Gamasutra it was between 15 and 20.

The restructure means that GSN is now divided into five distinct studios which will each cover social casino, solitaire, bingo and skill-based gaming.

Restructuring for the future

"We, unfortunately, had to say goodbye to talented individuals who have played an integral role in helping grow and shape GSN Games into a market-leader in social casino, casual and skill-based gaming," said GSN Games CEO David Goldhill.

"We are committed to providing outplacement services to those impacted by this change, and I thank each of our departing colleagues for all their contributions to GSN Games."

GSN Games had a similar "small reduction in force" in June 2016. The cuts back then focused on lives ops for their social casino games.
