HQ Trivia developer Intermedia Labs has raised $15 million in funding.

As reported by Axios, the company is now said to be valued at $100 million. The funding round was led by Founders Fun, along with Lightspeed Venture Partners.

It comes less than a month after rumours circulated that the team, which includes the founders of Vine, were seeking investment.

Big hit

HQ Trivia is one of the hottest mobile games on the market right now. As recently as Sunday, March 4th the game had attracted more than 2.1 million players for its 15-minute trivia slot.

With a lack of direct form of monetisation as of yet, the game is expensive to run, with thousands of dollars in prizes given away during each quiz.

Intermedia Labs aims to use the investment to grow its engineering team and the platform as it continues to expand the number of markets the game is available in.
