HTML5 Developer Conference returns to San Francisco on 21 May

Following a sell out in 2011, organisers behind the HTML5 Developer Conference have confirmed the event is set to return to San Francisco for its second annual show on 21 May.

The 2012 HTML5 Developer Conference is set to open with a keynote from Yahoo!'s JavaScript expert Douglas Crockford, with further keynotes following from Spaceport founder Ben Savage and YouWeb chairman Peter Relan.

Other speakers due to appear include representatives from Google, Microsoft, Nokia, AppMobi.

Industry experts will also raise topics such as a behind the scenes look at porting ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope to HTML5, multiplayer on the platform, and real in-app monetisation.

"HTML5 and JavaScript represent a new wave of apps and games and websites, with cross platform reach becoming increasingly important in a fractured mobile and web market,"said conference organiser Ann Burkett.

"Join masterminds defining and using such technology at the HTML5 Developer Conference, which has become the largest conference of its kind in the world."

Findings from platinum sponsor Spaceport's PerfMarks reports will also be on display in their entirety, highlighting benchmarks and tests on the new iPad, as well as performance comparisons between mobile and web browsers.
