Ian Livingstone on board for GameCity 2012 launch event

Organisers behind 2012's GameCity Festival in Nottingham have announced they'll lift the lid on this year's schedule at a special launch event on 2 May.
Held at the city's Antenna Media Centre, the unveiling will also play host to fantasy author and Eidos founder and life president Ian Livingstone, who will share presenting honours with GameCity director Iain Simons.
The odd couple
"We're honoured and delighted to be able to welcome Ian to GameCity for the first time," said Simons of the news.
"Festival launch day is always an exciting event for us, but having it in the presence of one of the legends of UK development will make 2012 particularly special.
"I can scarcely believe that thirty years ago I was a schoolboy enthralled by Deathtrap Dungeon and now here I am welcoming its creator to our event. He looks so very young."
The launch event itself will cover everything from dates and locations to confirmed headliners and other top-secret details and opportunities for publishers and developers to snap up exhibition spots.
GameCity itself will kick off in October, while entry to the launch party on 2 May will be limited with advance booking available soon recommended.
