The Independent Games Festival has opened up for submissions for its 20th annual awards ceremony to be held on March 21st 2018.

Entries can be submitted across a wide range of awards, including Excellence in Visual Art, Audio, Design, and Narrative, alongside the Student and Nuovo categories. The recently introduced alt.ctrl.GDC award, which awards games with unique controllers, will also return.

The deadline for submissions is October 2nd 2017, with finalists to be announced in early January 2018. The finalists will all be showcased at the IGF Pavilion between March 21st-23rd 2018.

The IGF is typically for PC indies, but games that have later been ported to mobile have received awards. 80 Days, Her Story, Mini Metro, and Oxenfree are among the mobile winners.

Developers interested in applying for the IGF can enter their games through its official website.
