IGN offers developers office space and tech support with Indie Open House project

Indie studios looking for monetary backing to support their titles aren't short of options right now. Often, however, the help they're looking for is of a more practical nature.
That's the deal with IGN's Indie Open House project, which is designed to supply technical support and a temporary base for the studio's operations.
Back for a second run, the program supports a total of five studios across a six month period, offering them access to relevant technology coupled with the guiding hand of GameSpy Technology staff.

Crucially, Indie Open House also proffers a temporary base, delivering office space at IGN Entertainment in San Francisco.
"Founded in January of this year by IGN and GameSpy Technology, the program has helped support the projects of five indie developer teams, giving them a space to share insights into the development process with like-minded peers, and a place for the teams to convene and further refine their projects," the firm said of the scheme.
"Indie Open House is strictly a support and residency program, meaning IGN maintains no interest in owning any content or binding participating teams to prohibitive contracts."
Developers looking to get involved in IGN's alternative have until August 1 to submit an application via the project's official website.
Those lucky enough to be picked will begin their residency term on September 12.
