iPad owners are male, rich 35-44 year olds according to Yahoo

While Apple is careful about what figures it releases, that doesn't stop networks like at Yahoo! pooling its resources to calculate just who is using their iPads and for what purpose.
As such, the firm has concluded that the majority of iPad users are male, between the ages of 35-44.
Hardly the most surprising news, but Yahoo! claims male iPad users outnumber their female counterparts by around 2:1.
Wealth is also naturally an issue, the company claiming on its mobile blog that most iPad users have a "higher earning power" than the norm.
OK in the UK
Though your wallet has to be fairly weighty to afford even the lowest spec iPad, many users in the UK already appear to have their hands on one perhaps trying to get a cheaper deal before its official launch on these shores.
Indeed, Yahoo! claims plenty of British consumers already have their hands on iPads, with approximately 10 percent of all IP traffic coming from either Europe or the Asia Pacific region.
"Specifically, the UK, France, and Germany are the top countries in Europe, and Taiwan and Hong Kong make up the most traffic in Asia Pacific," Cheng adds.
Loyal userbase
He continues, "Because the iPad runs on the same OS as the iPhone, it is not surprising to see many iPad users own another Apple product. Nearly half (48 percent) of Yahoo! iPad visitors own an iPhone and had visited Yahoo! on the iPhone previously."
The lifestyle elements of iPad also appear clear from Yahoo!'s statistics, with the company claiming Flickr is the most popular site for iPad users across the Yahoo! network.
Flickr usage by iPad is 143 percent higher than average.
Because the iPad is meant for internet browsing and media consumption, visits to Flickr seem to be a logical choice. And that despite the fact the slideshow feature doesn't work because it's Flash based.
