iPhone developer Smule has completed a new $3.9 million round of financing. The company is best known for its popular Ocarina and Sonic Lighter apps.
Granite Ventures led the funding round, with Bessemer Venture Partners chipping in. Existing investors Jeffrey Smith and Maples Investments also participated.
Smith is actually the founder and CEO of Smule, so he's putting his money where his mouth is. The company is touting its expertise in "sonic media", so it seems more audio-related iPhone apps are on the way.
Smule claims more than one million users for its stable of applications so far, with both Ocarina and Sonic Lighter topping the App Store charts in some countries.
