iPod touch-based adverts soar 96 per cent after Christmas

Mobile advertising giant AdMob has put out a blog post detailing a massive increase in click-throughs from iPod touches on Boxing Day of 2009.
The figures show a massive 96 per cent leap in ad requests from iPod touches, suggesting a lot of people unwrapped a new Apple iDevice on Christmas morning and immediately hit the App Store looking for free and ad-supported games to play - and evidently they found them.
There were apparently a few iPhones thrown under the tree this year as well, with a 12 per cent rise in clicks recorded by the smartphone phenomenon.
The UK saw the greatest increase in ad requests, jumping a phenomenal 124 per cent, and while this number includes existing iPod touches, it definitely points toward Apple's device being one of the hottest sellers of the Christmas period.
