iPod Touch fuelling post-Christmas games boom

2009 appears to be starting with a bang for iPhone games developers, thanks to strong sales of Apple's iPod Touch over the Christmas period.
MacRumors has been reporting on the increase in the number of people browsing websites using the iPod Touch since Christmas Day, while developers have been claiming sales uplifts of between 3x and 4x on the Touch Arcade forums.
Meanwhile, AdMob's Jason Spero Twittered that its data indicates that "there were a crapload of iPod Touch gifts last week".
It seems Apple's marketing campaign pitching the iPod Touch as "the funnest iPod ever" hit home with consumers, particularly those buying Christmas gifts.
The post-Christmas period is traditionally a peak for the mobile games industry, as people with new phones tend to explore their operator portals.
