Kabam starts Android assault as hardcore social studio signs up with Mobage
Social gaming specialist Kabam has announced its first games for Android will be available through Mobage, with the studio partnering with ngmoco to support DeNA's platform.
No specific games have yet been mentioned the move announced at DeNA's Mobage Forum in Tokyo - though it's claimed the first titles will hit Mobage this summer.
Hard to beat
"We are focused on selecting the best-in-breed games for the diverse Mobage catalogue," said ngmoco CEO and DeNA director Neil Young.
"We have been impressed with Kabam's success with hardcore social games on the web and iOS and are excited to partner with them to bring some of their biggest franchises to Android."
Kabam released its first free-to-play iOS game Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North earlier in April, having made a name for itself with games on both Facebook and Google+, as well as its own Kabam.com platform.
In all, the Kingdoms of Camelot franchise now boasts nearly 20 million registered users worldwide, with iOS downloads having topped 1 million within its first month on the App Store.
Amassing for Mobage
"Kabam is off to a blockbuster start on mobile devices," added Kabam president Andrew Sheppard.
"By creating games for multiple platforms, we are able to work with the best partners in the industry and we're excited to leverage DeNA's expertise on Android and Mobages advanced worldwide network."
Kabam's move follows a similar announcement by Disney, with the firm having launched its first social on Mobage back in March.
Tiny Tower studio NimbleBit has also pledged its support, with the San Francisco-based studio signing up for its forthcoming airline simulation Pocket Planes.
