Key Windows Phone 7 update due for February release at MWC 2011

Windows Phone 7 might only be in its infancy, but already developers are talking up the box of goodies set to hit with the platform's first set of updates.
Speculation as to just when Microsoft will detail and latterly launch the new version is just as a rife, with WinRumors claiming Mobile World Congress 2011 in February has been earmarked as the chosen venue.
Happy new year
The site claims a company source has detailed that an initial update, including copy and paste functionality, will roll out in January after being showcased at CES 2011.
The larger platform refresh already dubbed as so big they could have called it Windows Phone 8 by ChevronWP7 developer Chris Walsh will hit the following month, opening up new elements of the OS to developers.
"The update includes some great new features for developers, Windows Phone 7 apps in 2011 will certainly become more interesting," an unnamed tester reportedly told the site, with online chatter claiming new APIs to allow greater multi-tasking and in-app downloads will both be on the cards.
Microsoft itself has so far offered little official comment regarding Windows Phone 7, beyond the fact that the first is due in early 2011.
