Bleach: Brave Souls developer KLab has offered voluntary redundancy to around 100 employees in an effort to cut costs after three consecutive years of financial losses.

Gamebiz learned that the Japanese developer which currently has 389 employees has revealed plans to trim about a quarter of its workforce.

KLab said it aims to cut around 100 jobs by June 30th, 2025, offering severance packages to employees who accepted voluntary redundancy.

Before resorting to layoffs, the developer was said to have tried to mitigate losses by reducing outsourcing costs and cutting executive salaries, but ultimately decided to downsize its workforce.

Continued losses

KLab has focused on developing two major titles including EA SPORTS FC Tactical and My Hero Academia, while aiming to sustain sales from existing titles and reduce losses through cost control.

However, despite a 3.4% revenue increase from its games in the fiscal year ending March 2025, the company continued to face losses, partly due to the delayed global launch of EA Sports FC Tactical.
