Annapurna founder Megan Ellison has appointed ex-Netflix Games executive Leanne Loombe as executive VP and head of games at Annapurna Interactive.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Loombe will oversee publishing, development, and creative efforts for the company’s game slate. She will report to Annapurna’s interactive and new media president, Hector Sanchez.

She previously led Netflix’s game development and publishing operations, bringing titles like Hades and Grand Theft Auto to the platform. Loombe also held roles at Riot Games and EA, contributing to franchises such as League of Legends and Need for Speed.

Loombe’s departure from Netflix follows a major restructuring of its games division under new president Alain Tascan, who replaced former VP of games Mike Verdu, now VP of GenAI.

Pushing boundaries

“I’m excited to build on Annapurna’s legacy as a home for developers pushing the boundaries of storytelling," said Loombe.

Annapurna founder Megan Ellison added: “Leanne’s obvious passion for games and love of developers, paired with her experience bringing games to players all over the world, make her a perfect fit for Annapurna.

“I’m excited to welcome her to the team as we continue to grow our games business and help our developers push the boundaries of interactive entertainment.”

Annapurna Interactive president of interactive and new media Hector Sanchez also added: “Few leaders have Leanne’s breadth of experience across QA, publishing, and internal game development. She understands what it takes to make a good game from the inside-out, which is what makes her a great partner for our developers.”
