Lloyd-Webber keen to sign games deals

Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Really Useful Group is in talks with various games publishers, in an effort to sign licensing deals for its range of musicals, according to PaidContent.
The musicals would include Joseph and Cats, and the platforms covered include PC and console, but also mobile. Electronic Arts has been fingered as being involved in the negotiations.
"With the video gaming audience having moved from its male-dominated roots towards a more family-oriented demographic, now is the perfect time for us to take some of the best-known names in musical entertainment in a more interactive direction," says RUG's digital director Douglas Glen.
It seems the focus of the deal may be on SingStar-style karaoke games for console and PC, but there's clearly scope for some music-based titles on mobile platforms, particularly iPhone.
If RUG is keen to sign one all-encompassing deal covering console, PC and mobile, then EA would be in a strong position to win it, compared to rivals like Gameloft and Glu.
