MeeGo makes unofficial leap to HTC HD2

Officially shackled with the now largely redundant Windows Mobile 6.5, the suggestion that forward thinking HTC HD2 owners might be looking to upgrade their handset come's no great surprise.
Android, Ubuntu and Windows Phone 7 have all unofficially featured on the device, and now one developer has managed to get Nokia and Intel's forthcoming OS MeeGo running on it.
Sneak peek
It's an interesting development, if only because excitement in the platform certainly from a developer perspective is on the rise. Glimpses of it in action have so far been limited to official conferences, or hardware demos by Intel.
It's unauthorised appearance on HTC HD2 hasn't come without the odd glitch, however.
As detailed by the man behind it High Caffeine Content's Steve Troughton-Smith - enabling the touchscreen was initially impossible, while the OS as a whole runs rather slow and awkwardly, given its work in progress nature.
"Plenty of things aren't working... but it's a start," Troughton-Smith details.
"The HD2 seems unique in its hacking potential, as it can run Windows Mobile 6.5, Windows Phone 7, Android, Ubuntu and now MeeGo."
