Metismo releases source code of Vektrax iPhone game

UK firm Metismo has announced that it's releasing the source code for its 3D iPhone racer Vektrax to licencees of its Bedrock middleware platform.
The game, which our sister site Pocket Gamer was impressed by, was developed by Metismo using Bedrock, with the aim of using it as a poster-game for the technology.
"Vektrax started out as a 3D technology demo of our Bedrock middleware, designed to illustrate how a title could be developed in Java and then cross-compiled to native platforms and use OpenGL ES," says Metismo boss John Chasey.
"However feedback on the title was so positive we decided to release the iPhone version of the game on the App Store where we have had fantastic reviews."
The Vektrax source code will be fully commented, and will be released to Bedrock licencees with the aim of inspiring them to make their own iPhone games using the platform.
