Microsoft adds Windows Phone 7 support to XNA Creators Club in App Hub relaunch

Without so much as a press release, Microsoft has relaunched its XNA Creators Club its independent developer channel for Xbox Live Marketplace as App Hub, incorporating support for Windows Phone 7 into the bargain.
The refreshed service packages together everything studios need to develop for both platforms, with Microsoft keen to ensure sdevelopers are equipped to take advantage of the features delivered via Windows Phone 7's user interface.
Tools for talent
"By now we hope its clear that your apps and games are central to the value were offering end users with Windows Phone 7," Microsoft's Todd Brix said on the platform's developer blog.
"App Hub is now the single place where Windows Phone and Xbox Live Indie Games developers can register, find development tools, support and resources, and submit and manage their apps for Windows Phone and Xbox Live."
As a result of the relaunch, developers can now submit apps to both formats for an annual $99 subscription, with DreamSpark members Microsoft's program for students holding onto their free status.
For said fee, developers can make unlimited submissions to Windows Phone Marketplace, albeit with a $19.99 for every app beyond the fifth submission.
Schooling success
However, it's Microsoft's view that App Hub will become the prime source for all developers looking to make a name for themselves on Windows Phone 7, bringing together information on both app design and visibility.
"App Hub represents another step towards making it easier for developers to find the resources they need to build and distribute great apps and games for Windows Phone, Xbox 360, PC and the cloud," added Brix.
"Windows Phone 7 is well on its way to capturing the imagination of consumers, and that spells opportunity for you."
