Microsoft running free Windows 8 dev camps worldwide

Microsoft is currently running free Windows 8 dev camps at locations across Europe, North America and Asia.

The one-day events - run by Microsoft developers -are designed to introduce attendees to Windows 8, the development platform for Metro-style applications and the Windows Store.

More importantly, though, many of these camps will also give attendees hands-on time building applications for Microsoft's new desktop and tablet OS.

Off to camp

Developers based in the US will find camps running in Dallas, Redmond and San Francisco, among others, while Canadians camps are coming to Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Microsoft is hosting events in London, Zurich, Vienna and a host of other major cities.
